Prince of Peace Fifth Sunday Mission in Action

Prince of Peace United Methodist Church Fifth Sunday Mission in Action program provides a special mission activity each month that includes a fifth Sunday.

On Sunday January 29th at 9:30 am members and friends will gather at the church to hold a short worship service followed by preparation of bags of trail mix and cookies for The Night Ministry, a Chicago-based organization founded in 1976 by a group of 20 congregations. It provides housing, health care, and human connection to youth and adults struggling with poverty or homelessness. With a staff of social workers and ministers, it addresses physical, emotional, and social needs of 5,200 adults, teens, pregnant girls, and new young moms and their children who have nowhere else to go. The Night Ministry was recently featured in the documentary The Homestretch. Especially during the cold winter months, Prince of Peace chooses to support this vital service for the homeless and those living in poverty.

Members of Prince of Peace UMC believe that to be followers of Christ we must take action to spread the love of Christ throughout the community and the world. All are welcome to join us. Prince of Peace Church is located at the corner of Arlington Heights Road and Devon Avenue in Elk Grove Village.

Prince of Peace welcoming statement: Believing in God's inclusive love, we welcome all into full participation in the congregation, regardless of age, ability, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, faith background, family configuration, or socioeconomic status.
