Help give abused children a voice in court
CASA Kane County announces its continuing educational presentations of general information meetings for January. For nearly 30 years, CASA Kane County has been recruiting, training and supervising community volunteers who serve as court appointed special advocates (CASAs) and the guardian ad litem (GAL) for children in court due to abuse, neglect or private guardianship. The volunteer acts as the eyes and ears of the judge to help make the best decision for a safe, caring and permanent home for each child. The organization has been serving all abuse/neglect and private guardianship cases in the 16th Judicial Circuit of Kane County since 2000.

Join them at one of the informational sessions to hear details about the organization, the role of the CASA/GAL volunteer, and the training that is involved.
The next sessions will be 9 to 10 a.m. Mondays, Jan. 9 and 23; 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 11 and 18; 9 to 10 a.m. Thursdays, Jan. 12 and 19; and 11 a.m. to noon Fridays, Jan. 13 and 20, at the CASA office in the historic Kane County courthouse, 100 S. Third St., fourth floor, Geneva.
Three evening information sessions will be offered from Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N. Broadway in Aurora; or Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Elgin Public House, 219 E. Chicago St. in Elgin.
