Wood Dale sponsors vehicle sticker contest

Wood Dale is sponsoring its third annual contest for students in kindergarten through eighth grade to design the city's 2017-18 vehicle sticker.

The winners will be notified the week of March 20 and announced at the April 6 city council meeting.

Entries must include this year's theme of Honoring Heroes (police, fire, military, and so on). The words City of Wood Dale and 2017/2018 also must appear on the design.

Entries should be no bigger than 6-by-6-inches and become property of the city. Students can submit only one entry and it must be turned in by March 6. Designs may be mailed or dropped off at city hall, 404 N. Wood Dale Road.

Entries will be judged by age group with one winner in each. The groups are kindergarten through second grade; third through fifth grade; and sixth through eighth grade.

The grand prize winner will receive a $100 Target gift card and a framed vehicle sticker of their winning design. The design also will be featured on the city's 2017/2018 vehicle sticker.

Two runners-up will receive $50 Target gift cards.
