Hoffman Estates MLK breakfast set for Jan. 16

The Cultural Awareness Commission of the village of Hoffman Estates will hold its 15th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast on Monday, Jan. 16.

This year's theme is "Creating Positive Race Relations," and the keynote address will be given by the Rev. Zina Jacque of Community Church of Barrington.

The free event will begin promptly at 8 a.m. with breakfast in the Ed & Mary Hennessy Room at the village hall, 1900 Hassell Road. Entertainment will be provided by the Christian Tabernacle Church of Roselle.

Seating is very limited, and reservations are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a limit of four people per reservation.

Reservations are being accepted through 5 p.m. Jan. 11, or until the event is full. To reserve a spot, call (847) 781-2606.

Guests are asked to bring a nonperishable food item, paper goods or toiletries to help restock community food pantries for the winter.
