Petition challenges to be heard Monday in Avon Township

Challenges to nominating petitions filed by some candidates on the April ballot will be heard by the Avon Township electoral board Monday, Jan. 9. The first of the three hearings starts at 6 p.m. in the township meeting room, 433 E. Washington St. in Round Lake Park. Up first will be a challenge to the paperwork filed by highway commissioner candidate Robert Kula. The next two hearings will involve the petitions filed by clerk candidate Jeanne Kearby and the People Over Politics political slate that includes supervisor candidate Terry Wilke.
