Aurora police seek help identifying suspect in Fox Valley Mall theft

Aurora police are asking for help identifying a man they believe stole more than $800 of merchandise from a store at Fox Valley Mall.

Officials reached out Wednesday on Facebook, posting photos of a man they think was involved in the theft Dec. 21. Police were not immediately available to comment. The thief fled when he was stopped by store employees who noticed he tried to leave without paying, according to police.

The shopping center recently announced a security measure requiring people younger than 21 to wear a wristband and be supervised by an adult during mall-designated times.

The man was seen getting into a newer model, white Chevy four-door vehicle, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to call the Aurora Police Department at (630) 256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000.
