Aptakisic-Tripp School District 102 hosting 'Erin's Law' meeting

Aptakisic-Tripp School District 102 is hosting a parent meeting to preview a sexual abuse prevention program the district will use to comply with "Erin's Law."

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Jan. 26, at Meridian Middle School, 2195 Brandywyn Lane in Buffalo Grove.

Erin's Law is legislation passed in 2013 after efforts by former Schaumburg resident Erin Merryn. The law requires elementary and middle schools to teach age-appropriate lessons on child sexual abuse and assault.

The meeting will cover concepts of the Be Seen and Heard 2.0 program used during school assemblies.
