Grayslake to formally consider truck parts company

Grayslake village board members Tuesday night are scheduled to give final consideration to a proposal for a truck parts company to build an office and production facility on Peterson Road adjacent to the Lake County Fairgrounds. Officials said 50 to 60 employees initially would be expected at Okabe Co. Inc.'s operation on the 21-acre site. Okabe would move to Grayslake from its Vernon Hills facility. For the project to happen, village board members must approve a request for a special-use permit amendment with a zoning classification allowing limited industry.
