Palatine Sikh community to hold outreach event at library

An event called "Get To Know Your Sikh Neighbor" will be hosted by members of the Sikh Religious Society gurdwara at the Palatine Public Library on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 8.

According to the event's Facebook post, members of Palatine's Sikh community will be on hand to speak about their lives with people outside their community who are interested, have questions but never dared to ask, or are just plain curious about the Sikh religion.

Palatine is home to the Sikh Religious Society gurdwara, at 1280 Winnetka St. The building is a large place of worship and community center.

The event will run from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Palatine Public Library, which is located at 700 N. North Court.
