Kerr helps Grant past Lakes; Thomas paces Grayslake N.
John Kerr had 19 points and 14 rebounds, and Grant's boys basketball team beat visiting Lakes 72-61 in Northern Lake County Conference action Saturday night for its third straight win.
Logan Lewis (12 points, 10 assists) also had a double-double for the Bulldogs (3-4, 3-0), who are tied for first place with North Chicago. Grant led 40-30 at halftime. The Bulldogs also received 19 points from Kyle Dupree and 15 from Ben Kusiak.
Lakes fell to 3-5 and 0-3 with fifth loss in a row.
Grayslake North 59, Round Lake 43: Jamal Thomas scored 14 points and James Connolly added 13 for the host Knights, who led the entire way en route to the Northern Lake County win.
Grayslake North (6-2, 2-1) was up 14-7 after one quarter, 20-11 at halftime and 43-32 after three.
Round Lake fell to 1-6 and 0-3.
North Chicago 65, Wauconda 55: The host Warhawks outscored the Bulldogs 24-7 in the opening quarter en route to the Northern Lake County win.
Kyle Drobnik had 16 points and 8 rebounds for Wauconda (3-5, 1-2), while Jarod Stonis collected 16 points and 6 steals. Jimmy Ott scored 11 points for the Bulldogs.
North Chicago (4-2, 3-0) was led by Ishaun Walker with 17 points and Pierce Coleman with 14.
