Author events: Meet middle-grade author K.A. Holt in Arlington Heights

• Local author Erica O'Rourke (writing under the name of Lucy Kerr) celebrates the release of her new adult mystery book, "Time of Death," at an author event at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at The Book Stall, 811 Elm St., Winnetka. (847) 446-8880 or thebookstall.com.

• K.A. Holt, author of the middle-grade titles "Rhyme Schemer" (a 2016 Caudill nominee) and "House Arrest," will sign copies of her books at a reception running from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, in the Marketplace at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N.
