Six Rosary High athletes sign letters of intent

Six Rosary High School athletes signed letters of intent in November to pursue their sport at the college level:

• Erin Burke of Wayne, daughter of Mary and Michael Burke, will play volleyball for Rollins University in Winter Park, Florida.

• Julia Gauthier of Sandwich, daughter of Drs. Maria and Daniel Gauthier, will play volleyball for Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana

• Meegan Hart of St. Charles, daughter of Janice and Russell Hart, will play volleyball for Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

• Martha Konovodoff of Sugar Grove, daughter of Mary Ann and Andrew Konovodoff, will play volleyball for Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

• Sarah Willman of Montgomery, daughter of Jennifer and Rich Willman, will play softball for St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.

• Alexis Yager of Batavia, daughter of Cindy and Mark Yager, will swim for the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Rosary offers nine competitive sports as well as a dance team and Marmion Academy's cheerleading squad. Seventy-eight percent of Rosary students participate in athletics; 142 students compete in one sport, 44 students compete in two sports, and six students compete in three sports (2015-16). In addition, 91 percent of Rosary's athletes are Scholar Athletes with an average grade-point average of 3.55 (2015-16).

Rosary High School is a Catholic, college-preparatory high school for young women located at 901 N. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora, and sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois.
