Massachusetts man sentenced for making bomb threats

BOSTON (AP) - A Massachusetts man who made bomb threats to schools in four states has been sentenced to the time he has already served since his June 2015 arrest.

Anthony Rae, of Stoughton, was also sentenced in federal court in Boston to three years of probation. He pleaded guilty in October to five counts of emailing bomb threats.

Prosecutors say over a nine-month period the 25-year-old Rae used several different email accounts, including his mother's, to send bomb threats to elementary schools and colleges in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Illinois and North Carolina.

Prosecutors say Rae made a threat to Rhode Island College from a computer in his apartment complex's community room the day after police searched his home and seized several electronic devices.

He had faced up to 10 years in prison.
