YMCA Holiday Extravaganza Welcomes North Pole Celebrities

Jolly old Saint Nick and Mrs. Claus welcomed families to the North Suburban YMCA's "Making Spirits Bright" Holiday Extravaganza on Saturday, December 3. Kids shared their holiday wishes with Santa and enjoyed treats, facepainting, and arts and crafts while parents browsed the wide selection of fresh-cut Christmas trees and wreaths on the Y's Tree Lot. The special event also included a prize drawing for a shopping cart filled with toys, as well as raffles for creatively decorated wreaths in the Y's "Deck the Halls" holiday display.

The Holiday Extravaganza was made possible by the generous support of sponsors including Toys "R" Us of Highland Park, ConTech Lighting, Hobby Lobby, Dunkin' Donuts, and Sunset Foods, as well the many organizations and individuals who donated wreaths for the Deck the Halls raffle. All proceeds benefited the Y's many programs to build stronger families and communities.

The Tree Lot will remain open on Fridays from 5:00 to 8:00pm, Saturdays from 12:00 to 5:00pm and Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00pm. Delivery options are available to homes within a five-mile radius of the Y, located at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook. For more information, call 847 272 7250.
