Boys swimming: Prospect wins St. Viator Invite

Prospect's boys swimming team pulled out a 2-point victory in the seven-team St. Viator Invitational on Wednesday.

The Knights finished second to the Jacobs co-op team in the meet's final race, the 400-freestyle relay. But that was still enough points for Prospect, which finished with 252 points. Next was Jacobs at 250, with St. Ignatius (224) and St. Viator (186) rounding out the top four team placements.

Individual winners for Prospect were Matt Inserra in the 50 free (23.20), Alex Jarosz in the 500 free (5:09.50). The Knights also won the 200 free relay with Inserra, Reidar Erbe, Jacob Kosinski and Nick Partipilo in 1:33.01 and took second in the medley relay.

Prospect got runner-up individual efforts from Partipilo in the 200 IM (2:08.45) and from Kosinski in the 100 breast (1:04.80).

The host Lions got a winning effort from Michael Ruben in the 100 freestyle (52.61)
