Hear holiday sounds with Chicago Master Singers

The 120-voice Chicago Master Singers, under the direction of Alan Heatherington, will present its annual Christmas concert accompanied by the Ars Viva Brass Friday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. at Divine Word Chapel at Techny Towers, 2001 Waukegan Road, Techny (Northbrook).

Beginning with the traditional processional "Once in Royal David's City," the concert will feature arrangements of traditional carols by Sir David Willcocks and Stephen Paulus.

Other Christmas classics on the program include works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Andrew Carter and Wayland Rogers, and a rendition of the "Hallelujah" chorus from Handel's Messiah.

Tickets can be purchased at www.chicagomastersingers.org or call (877) TALKCMS (825-5267) to leave a message. Prices range from $15 (with student/senior discounts) to $48. Purchasing tickets in advance is recommended, as the concerts typically sell out.
