McHenry County Jewish Congregation to host Community Chanukah Celebration

The McHenry County Jewish Congregation is hosting a Community Chanukah Celebration from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 18.

The morning will feature songs, games, crafts, and a jewelry sale. Traditional Chanukah food will be served including potato pancakes made from scratch by the congregation's "Latke Men."

The event is open to non-members, but please register in advance to mcjcoffice@yahoo.com or call (815) 455-1810.

The McHenry County Jewish Congregation operates a gift shop with a range of Judaica gift items. The shop is open during religious school hours, Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m to noon, and otherwise by appointment.

The McHenry County Jewish Congregation holds Shabbat services at 7 p.m. Fridays and 9:30 a.m. Saturdays.

Services are led by Rabbi Tom Samuels.

It is an independent community synagogue that serves Jews of all backgrounds. Interfaith families are welcome.

The McHenry County Jewish Congregation is located on Ridgefield Road in unincorporated Crystal Lake, accessible from Route 14.
