MSL crossover wins for Prospect, Wheeling, Fremd

Prospect 57, Palatine 33: Frankie Mack (15 points), David Swedura (13) and Michael Ritchie (10) each scored in double figures to help Prospect's boys basketball team pick up a 57-33 victory over host Palatine in a Mid-Suburban League divisional crossover Tuesday.

Mack finished with three 3s, two of them in the first quarter as the Knights (4-3) jumped out to a 22-8 lead.

Johnny O'Shea (9 points) and Cortez Hogans and Scottie Elter (8 apiece) led the scoring effort for Palatine (1-5).

Wheeling 58, Schaumburg 43: The visiting Wildcats got solid scoring from DeShon Jacobs (15 points), TJ Best (14) and Michael Best (12) to pickup an MSL crossover win and improve to 3-4.

Fremd 48, Rolling Meadows 31: The visiting Mustangs led 12-7 after the first quarter and had a 1-point lead at the half, but the Vikings limited Rolling Meadows to 13 second-half points to pick up an MSL crossover win.

Senior forward Shaan Patel scored a game-high 20 points to lead the way for Fremd (6-0), and Kyle Sliwa had 18. The Vikings were 7-for-7 at the foul line.

Senior forward Jared Murphy scored 10 points to pace Rolling Meadows (2-4), which saw a two-game win streak snapped.
