Home Grown Illustrator visits Hunting Ridge and Lincoln Elementary School

Joe Brottman visited his hometown elementary school Hunting Ridge, Palatine, on Nov. 10 and Lincoln Elementary School, Palatine, Nov. 11, to share his new book, "Peep."

"Peep" is a children's book about a little bird and his journey through Ireland. He makes friends with a cute cow and a pig duo, but when a weird mishap switches his new friends' colors, the three are faced with understanding what it means to be different and learn what really matters.

Brottman engaged the students of all ages in his book talk, and demonstrated some of his illustration talents.

"'Peep' is how I want to impact the world and teach the future generations about communication through the arts," Brottman said.
