Cheap Trick to perform at JDRF gala

The annual JDRF One Dream Gala, organized by the JDRF Illinois Chapter, is a fundraiser dedicated to helping find a cure for the 1.25 million Americans living with Type 1 diabetes and helping accelerate life-changing therapies like the artificial pancreas system, which automatically delivers precise insulin and multi-hormone therapy.

Guests will enjoy a sit-down dinner, silent and live auctions and a special musical performance by the classic rock band Cheap Trick, whose hits include "Surrender," "I Want You to Want Me" and "Dream Police."

This year, the event is being chaired by Libertyville residents Ken and Amy Aldridge. Ken Aldridge is chairman of the board of Aldridge Electric, a national infrastructure construction firm based in Libertyville. Amy Aldridge pursues photography opportunities through her business, Amy George Photography. Both are passionate about JDRF's goal of finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes. Over a decade ago, diabetes affected Ken's family and he committed to supporting the goals of JDRF. His promise inspired the employees of Aldridge Electric who stepped up to the funding challenges. To date, the people of Aldridge Electric are responsible for over $2 Million in donations to fund a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

The gala will be held from 5:30-11:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at McCormick Place Lakeside Center and Arie Crown Theater, 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago.
