Chicago Blackhawks team with LifeSource for Dec. 10 blood drive

Demonstrating that there is an easier way to give blood than through big hits on the ice, members of the Chicago Blackhawks will support their fans who attend a LifeSource blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at The Westin O'Hare, 6100 N. River Road, Rosemont.

Along with meeting Blackhawks mascot Tommy Hawk, participating donors at the event will be entered into a drawing to win tickets to sold-out Blackhawks games and autographed memorabilia, including a hat signed by reigning NHL MVP Patrick Kane and a jersey autographed by Rookie of the Year Artemi Panarin. To schedule an appointment visit www.lifesource.org and search by group code 271B or call (877) 543-3768.

LifeSource hopes to collect more than 140 units during the six-hour drive. Hawks fans are encouraged to arrive in their jerseys, hats and other team garb.

"We are looking forward to a fun, Blackhawks-themed blood drive that will most importantly help stock our shelves to serve our patients in need," LifeSource Executive Director Eva Quinley said. "In addition to the blood drive, we also will have LifeSource staff present to sign people up for the bone marrow registry."

Donating blood is fast, easy and supports lives. For more information, including donor appointments, call (877) 543-3768 or visit www.lifesource.org.
