Oral Roberts women stun No. 12 Oklahoma with late 18-0 run

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Lakota Beatty scored 20 points, Maria Martianez had 18 points with 13 rebounds and Oral Roberts used an 18-0 run in the fourth quarter to shock No. 12 Oklahoma 74-67 on Sunday.

A 3-pointer by Peyton Little with 6:35 to play had the Sooners up 65-54 but they wouldn't score again until Maddie Manning's layup with 13 seconds remaining cut the Oral Roberts lead to 72-67. Oklahoma missed 10 shots and three turnovers in that stretch.

Kaylan Mayberry scored the first four points of the run, Martianez scored six straight and Faith Ihim contributed five points. The Golden Eagles made all six of their free throws in the final minute, four by Beatty.

Mayberry finished with 12 points and Ihim had 9 points and 10 rebounds as ORU (4-4) outrebounded Oklahoma 45-38.

Oklahoma (5-2), which lost its second straight, had won 18 straight over the Golden Eagles but this was their first meeting in 11 years. Little scored 12 points but Vionise Pierre-Louis, the second leading scorer (12.0) and leading rebounder (10.8), only played four minutes and did not score.
