Elgin woman charged with battery, home invasion

A 30-year-old Elgin woman was charged with felony aggravated battery after a man reported that she came to his residence and beat him, police said.

Elgin police received a call at 12:21 p.m. Thursday from a resident of the 200 block of Illinois Court stating that the woman, whom he knew, entered his home and struck him, officials said in a news release.

Police arrested Laura L. Montigo, of the 1200 block of Amanda Circle, and charged her with two counts of felony home invasion and felony aggravated battery.

Montigo was armed with a blunt object she used to cause the victim injuries that were not life-threatening, the news release said.

She was being held on $150,000 bail at the Kane County jail.
