Sleigh rides, reindeer Friday night in Arlington Heights
A week after Arlington Heights' annual tree lighting, the festivities continue Friday night with a "Holiday Happenings" event in the village's downtown.
The pop-up event, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Harmony Park, includes free sleigh rides, a petting zoo, reindeer and their elves, Santa's Tree Farm, and group pictures at a reindeer family cutout. The Rolling Meadows High School Madrigal Singers perform at 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., and the Arlingtones at 7 p.m.
A special delivery of snow also is expected, organizers say. The park is located at Vail Avenue and Campbell Street.
