Warrant issued in Waukegan murder case

Waukegan police have issued a warrant for first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Waukegan teen last month, police said Thursday.

Dayviontay T. Jackson, 17, of Waukegan, was shot at about 8:30 p.m. Nov. 11 in the common area of a multiunit residence in the 400 block of McKinley Avenue after an argument escalated, police said. He was found lying at the base of a staircase and pronounced dead at the scene.

On Nov. 14, police issued an arrest warrant for first-degree murder for Willie C. Jackson, 18, of the 400 block of 10th Street in Waukegan, police said in a news release Thursday.

They believe Jackson has fled elsewhere in the Chicago area. He's considered armed and dangerous. If anyone sees him, they should immediately call 911.

Anyone with information on Jackson's whereabouts is asked to call the Waukegan police tip line at (847) 360-9001.
