Peterson leads No. 20 Syracuse over Michigan State

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Alexis Peterson had 27 points, six rebounds and five steals to help No. 20 Syracuse beat Michigan State 75-64 in a ACC/Big Ten Challenge game on Wednesday night.

Brittney Sykes had 15 points and Briana Day added 12. The Orange (5-3) bounced back from a pair of losses in last week's Gulf Coast Showcase, both to Top 25-ranked opponents, Ohio State and DePaul.

Tori Jankoska had 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists and Nia Hollie added 10 points for Michigan State (6-2). Coming into this week, the Spartans dropped out of the Top 25.

The Orange used a 9-0 run to end the second quarter with a 40-22 lead and kept the lead in double digits for most of the second half. The Spartans had a 9-2 run to close the deficit to 61-52 with 5:51 left in the fourth quarter but would get no closer.
