If you are looking to get into the holiday spirit, you're in luck this weekend. Here are some local events to check out.

Dickens in Dundee: Friday, Dec. 2, beginning at 6 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 3, beginning at 10 a.m., in downtown East and West Dundee. 29th annual winter festival featuring tree lighting, living windows, Spirit of Christmas parade, Santa, petting zoo, crafts, gingerbread village, Festival of Trees and more. "Candlelight Carols": 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Ave., St. Charles; and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Fourth Presbyterian Church, Chicago. St. Charles Singers' annual holiday concerts will offer a happy mix of familiar carols, anthems and motets with surprising new works mixed in. $35, $30 for seniors, age 65 or older, or $10 for students. Holiday Show Sale: Dec. 2-10 at Fine Line Creative Arts Center, 37W570 Bolcum Road., St. Charles. Christmastime at Fine Line, an annual juried members show sale featuring a variety of gift items from 70-80 artists. Opening night from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, features a luminary to light your way. Holiday in the Grove: 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in Sugar Grove. At Sugar Grove Community House, 151 Main St., ceremonial tree lighting at 7:45 a.m., Breakfast with Santa serving times at 8, 9, and 10 a.m. with Pictures with Santa, children's activities, and cake walk from 8 a.m. to noon. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at John Shields Elementary, 85 S. Homes for the Holidays House Tour: 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. Northeast Neighborhood Association's walk features six festively decorated houses in the Douglas/Spring/Brook Street area. Advance tickets are $15 or $10 for age 10-18; $20 day off. Registration will be noon-5 p.m. at Advocate Sherman Center Street Atrium, 901 Center St., Elgin. Park in the Advocate Sherman South side parking lot at Slade and Center streets, across from the tour registration. Stop by craft house from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at 808 Douglas Ave. or the warming house from noon-6 p.m. at 1005 N. Pancake Breakfast with Santa: 7:30-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in the Geneva High School cafeteria, 416 McKinley Ave. Geneva Lions Club's fifth annual breakfast featuring pancakes, sausage, and more. New this year, Pancake Creation Station with a variety of toppings. There will be live holiday music, free craft activities, and free photos with Santa. Tickets are $6 in advance or $7 at the door. Candlelight at the Inn: 3-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4, at Garfield Farm Museum, 3N016 Garfield Road, Campton Hills. Experience the tradition of winter visits as practiced by families like the Garfields in their 1846 brick inn. Hospitality, food, music and bake sale. Donations accepted. Geneva's Steeple Walk: 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at four Geneva churches. Eighth annual event features a variety of seasonal music concerts. Holiday concert: 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 420 W. Downer Place, Aurora. Acappellago's 'Where Angels Sing': 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Congregational Church Of Batavia, 21 S. Batavia Ave. Acappellago reprises music from their favorite Australian composer, Matthew Orlovich, jazzy settings of favorite carols such as "Jingle Bells" and "God Rest ye Merry Gents," as well as the world premiere of a new work written in celebration of Acappellago's 15th season by New York composer Robert Convery. $15, $12 for students and seniors. www.acappellago.org or (708) 484-3797.
