2 workers found dead at Illinois townhome construction site

LOCKPORT, Ill. (AP) - Police in the northern Illinois city of Lockport say they're investigating the deaths of two construction site workers as homicides.

Lockport Police Department Chief Terry Lemming says that the two men were working on townhomes. He says co-workers found the bodies when they arrived early Tuesday.

Lemming says the death investigation is in preliminary stages and it "being treated as a homicide." He says the investigation hasn't shown any public threat.

The Will County coroner hasn't immediately identified the men. The newspaper reports that detectives and crime scene investigators from the Will-Grundy Major Crimes Task Force were called to help.

Lockport is about 35 miles southwest of Chicago.
