Cary Grove Rotary donates blood pressure kits

The Rotary Club of Cary Grove recently donated approximately 50 blood pressure monitoring kits to McHenry County Department of Health. Jack Giel, club president, presented the kits.

Members of the Community Health staff Carol Waggoner, RN and Susan Borucki accepted the blood pressure kits for the health department.

The kits, manufactured by Synteligent Inc., are named "iLowerBP" and designed for home use. Contents include a wristband-style BP monitor, a training video and the book "High Blood Pressure for Dummies."

"McHenry County Department of Health is committed to supporting residents in their quest to achieve good health," said Pam Morzos, director of nursing. "This generous gift from The Rotary Club of Cary Grove helps with that mission by offering folks a tool for monitoring their blood pressure at home."

Carol Waggoner, who manages Heart Age education for the department, is appreciative of this generous donation which will be used in conjunction with the current Heart Health program. It conducts Heart Age Screening education periodically at events throughout the county. Heart Age screening and education is offered by staff members and Medical Reserve Corps volunteers.
