Grayslake history program to share veterans' stories

On Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum, 164 Hawley St., will present the oral histories of five Grayslake men who served in World War II. The event is days before the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The oral histories are from the archives of the historical society, which is hosting the program in the museum's community room. The five men whose stories will be heard are Bill Mogg, Jack Richardson, Larry Rouse, Ed Schroeder and Bud Murrie. These men are now deceased, but their stories as told to an interviewer will be read by students of Grayslake Central and North high schools. Audience members may share memories. The program is free. For information, call the historical society at (847) 223-7663 or (847) 987-5509.
