Make a donation to Hanover Township toy drive

The annual Hanover Township Toy Drive and Sponsor-A-Family programs are underway and help is needed.

From now until Friday, Dec. 16, donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at any township office, including 250 S. Route 59, in Bartlett; the township's Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59; the township's Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave., in Hanover Park; the township's Izaak Walton Center, 899 Jay St., in Elgin; or at any of the 20 drop off locations throughout Streamwood, Elgin, Bartlett or Hanover Park.

To view a complete list of locations, please visit www.hanover-township.org.

"We are always overwhelmed by the amount of support we receive from the community, especially during the holiday season," said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire. "Last year, 2,103 children were able to receive gifts for the holidays with the help of this program."

The Toy Drive Program allows supporters to purchase toys for any gender and age group up to 15 years old.

Sponsor-A-Family contributors select a family size and provide gifts for all children; adults are optional.

For questions or to sponsor-a-family, contact the Hanover Township Astor Avenue Community Center at (630) 540-9085.
