No shortage of offense in Grayslake Central's first win

Grayslake Central's boys basketball team picked up its first victory of the season in grand fashion.

The Rams defeated Christian Liberty Academy 101-62 on Tuesday in first-round play of the Bison Classic hosted by Buffalo Grove.

Scoring in double figures for Grayslake Central (1-1) were Justin Shepley (17 points), Ryan Spicer (14), Bill Drevline (14, including four 3s), Alec Novak (13) and Jack Spalding (12).

Junior guard Jesse Castro led all scorers with 32 points for Christian Liberty (0-2).

Grayslake Central scored 29 points in the first quarter.

Lake Zurich 46, Wauconda 16: The Bears held the Bulldogs scoreless in the third quarter to pick up a victory in tournament play at Richmond-Burton.

Ryan Kutsor led Lake Zurich (2-0) with 12 points, and Brett Hensley had 11 (including three 3s).

Connor Brannick was the top scorer for Wauconda (0-2) with 5 points.

Lakes 81, Johnsburg 48: Ian Haflinger paced the Eagles with 20 points as they rolled in Johnsburg/Richmond-Burton tournament play at Johnsburg.

Logan McCann had 11 points and Kyle Rohr had 10 for the Eagles (2-0).

Zach Touissant led Johnsburg with 19 points.

Mundelein 61, Elk Grove 51: At Mundelein, the host Mustangs (1-1) earned their first win of the season.
