Winning Chamber Holiday Button Available at Lake Forest Family Event

Lake Forest, IL - November 21, 2016 - Lake Forest launches the holiday season with the 33rd annual tree lighting ceremony on Friday, November 25, a tradition local families look forward to every year. A feature of the event is the debut of the Chamber of Commerce's winning holiday button design announced by Mayor Don Schoenheider.

The button design contest is sponsored by the Chamber every year and is open to 1st through 12th graders in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff. The holiday buttons are distributed at the ceremony, at local businesses and retailers and at the Chamber office.

The winning design, a wintry landscape set against a dark blue sky, was created by Eun Soo Kim, a 10th grader at Safe Haven School in Lake Bluff.

The second place design went to siblings, Austin and Kayla Key. Austin is a 4th grader at Cherokee Elementary School in Lake Forest and Kayla is an 8th grader at Deerpath Middle School in Lake Forest. Third place was awarded to Catie Kucera, a 7th grader at Deerpath Middle School. All the winners will receive Chamber gift certificates for their winning entry.
