McHenry man wanted on armed violence charges captured in Ingleside

A McHenry man remains held in Lake County jail on $75,000 bail after he was arrested on a warrant by the Lake County sheriff's office, authorities said Monday.

Craig S. Phillips, 20, of the 1400 block of North Fairview Lane, was taken into custody Nov. 18 at a residence on the 26800 block of West Cooney Island Drive in Ingleside.

Phillips had an active Lake County arrest warrant for armed violence out of Antioch, Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Christopher Covelli said. Phillips was also wanted for questioning regarding an incident under investigation by Fox Lake Police.

The warrants division and the U.S. Marshal's Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force conducted a search of the residence and found Phillips hiding in the basement.

His next court date is Nov. 30.
