Hanover Township to distribute holiday meal boxes

Hanover Township will distribute holiday meal boxes to qualifying families while supplies last beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, and Tuesday, Dec. 20.

Both meal box distributions will take place at the Hanover Township William Tiknis Campus, 250 S. Rte. 59 in Bartlett. Residents need to bring a valid ID and food pantry card or utility bill to be eligible to receive a meal box. Only one meal box per household will be distributed.

"Last year 1,181 meal boxes were distributed to township families," said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian McGuire. "If not for the continued support of our local business partners, organizations and residents, we would not be able to provide these types of services to families in need during the holiday season."

Sponsors include: St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Mary's Millennium Council #12801, Bartlett Lions Club, Bartlett Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club of Streamwood, Streamwood Woman's Club, Streamwood VFW Post 5151 and Bartlett VFW Post 11018.

A donation of $16 covers the cost of one meal box, which contains a frozen turkey/ham, canned fruits and vegetables, coffee, dessert and gravy mix, instant potatoes and stuffing mix. To make a donation or for information, call (630) 540-9085.
