Kids, hobbyists flock to South Elgin train open house

Model train hobbyists, collectors and kids who just like driving them around the tracks filled the historic Clintonville Station in South Elgin on Sunday for the third and final day of the Valley Model Railroad Association's annual open house.

The three-day event featured a large layout of tracks and up to 15 trains running at a time. Kids were able to operate trains under dispatcher's direction while grown-up enthusiasts shared tips and tricks.
