No. 7 Washington looks to snap 10-game skid vs. Arizona St

WHAT'S AT STAKE

Washington's has no more opportunity for slipups in its hopes of landing in the College Football Playoff. The Huskies loss to USC last week leaves them needing to win out and perhaps get some help to find a place in the top four at the end of the season. Arizona State can get bowl eligible with a win over the Huskies, and extend its winning streak against UW to 10 games.

KEY MATCHUP

Washington's pass offense vs. Arizona State's pass defense. Washington's entire offense struggled against USC. Jake Browning threw two interceptions and outside of WR John Ross, the Huskies got very little accomplished in the passing game getting held to 259 yards. The remedy could be Arizona State's porous secondary. The Sun Devils are allowing 387 yards per game through the air.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Arizona State: RB Kalen Ballage. Ballage enters the week with 13 rushing touchdowns this season and needs one more to move into seventh on Arizona State's all-time single-season list. Ballage did his damage through the air in his last game against Utah with a career-high 114 yards receiving.

Washington: LB D.J. Beavers. With leading tackler Azeem Victor expected to miss the rest of the season with a broken lower leg, Beavers will get plenty of playing time. The redshirt freshman had six tackles after Victor was hurt last week against USC, but also showed his inexperience getting exposed on a few plays by the Trojans.

Browning fell from first to third nationally in pass efficiency after last week's loss. Browning is at 189.1 for the season. ... Arizona State has been bowl eligible in each season under coach Todd Graham. ... In past two games, Ross has 14 catches for 362 yards and four touchdowns.
