Outlook: The Warriors return several starters from last year's conference championship team. "We should reap the benefit of having matured at most every position," said DeMarigny, recently the assistant coach to Hall of Famer Derril Kipp, who passed away on July 5. "We have been through a very difficult few months as a program but are looking forward to continuing the legacy of Maine West basketball to its fullest capacity." The Warriors are looking to continue to develop fundamentally at each position as well as adding some depth at each level. Kent had one of the finest freshman seasons in school history, averaging 15. 9 points and 8 rebounds. Johnson (9.2 ppg, 5.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists) and Pearson (9 points ppg, 4 assists, 3 rebounds) were also all-area selections. "Our first goal is to always improve individually as well as a team unit and to improve on last year's accomplishments," DeMarigny said.
