No injuries in North Central College dorm fire

No injuries were reported early Wednesday from a fire in a North Central College dorm building, authorities said.

Naperville fire Bureau Chief Tom Moran said the fire began in the second floor of the residence hall on the 400 block of South Brainard Street.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at 2:36 a.m. and quickly put out the fire, Moran said.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental, authorities said.

By early afternoon, North Central officials said all student residents of New Hall, where the small fire took place, were accounted for and had returned to their dorms.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police Department and North Central campus security. Fire departments from Warrenville, Wheaton, Bolingbrook, Downers Grove and Plainfield provided station coverage during the response.
