Women's volleyball: Harper going for national crown

The No. 1 seeded Harper women's volleyball team will play for the NJCAA national championship on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Rochester, Mn.

The Hawks (42-1) advanced to the title contest by defeating No. 4 Central Lakes, Minn., 25-13, 25-17, 17-25, 25-18 on Friday.

Ellie Burzlaff put down a season-high 19 kills for the Hawks while Katelyn Sommers had a double-double with 42 assists and 19 digs. She was also 22-of-25 serving with 5 aces.

In the quarterfinals, Harper topped No. 8 seed Queensborough, NY 25-13, 25-9, 25-9. Sommers was 14-of-15 serving with 4 aces. She also had 11 digs and 25 assists for another double-double.
