Campton Hills caretaker charged with abuse

A live-in caretaker for a Campton Hills couple has been charged with abuse, accused of losing her temper while intoxicated, pushing a man and pulling a feeding tube from a woman in hospice.

Oyunaa Jargel, 51, of the 3N300 block of Woodcrest Court, has been charged with abuse/neglect by a caregiver of an elderly person and aggravated battery of a victim older than 60, according to Kane County court records.

Jargel is accused of grabbing a female client's arm from a hospice nurse, which prevented the nurse from taking the woman's blood pressure.

Jargel also is accused of pushing a man older than 60 in the chest and grabbing the female client's arm and pulling a feeding tube from it, causing liquid to spray in the face of the woman, according to court records.

Campton Hills Police Chief Daniel Hoffmann said authorities were called to the Woodcrest residence at about 12:45 p.m. on Nov. 4 and Jargel was arrested.

"Ms. Jargel appeared to be intoxicated at the time when the altercation occurred," Hoffmann said.

Last week was the first time authorities had been called to the home and there had been no previous reports of abuse, Hoffmann said. Jargel had been a live-in caretaker at the Campton Hills address for about a year, he said.

Jargel is free on a recognizance bond and is to have no contact with her former clients.

Jargel had no previous arrests in Kane County. If convicted of the most severe felony charge, she faces between two and five years in prison. Probation also is an option.
