DuPage Medical Group acquires two practices

DOWNERS GROVE - DuPage Medical Group announced it acquired Surgical Consultants of Joliet, LTD and Gloria Caruso, MD, SC. Terms of each acquisition were not made public.

As a result, two board-certified surgeons join DMG's medical staff. Dr. Eric Bass earned a medical degree from the University of Southern California, where he received the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence. He completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His medical interests include colorectal cancer, pelvic floor disorders, anorectal disease and abdominal surgery.

Dr. Mark Danielson, who earned a medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, also joined DMG. Danielson completed a residency in general surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. His medical interests include hernias, breast cancer, laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy and intra-abdominal procedures.

Both surgeons remain on staff at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center and Silver Cross Hospital. They will continue seeing patients at 2 Uno Circle in Joliet. Appointments are available by calling (815) 725-2277.

DMG also welcomes Dr. Gloria Caruso, a board-certified gastroenterologist. She earned a medical degree from Chicago Medical School. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Loyola University Medical Center and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.

Caruso will be on staff at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, Edward Hospital and Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital. While her Bloomingdale office will close, she will begin seeing patients in two locations: 25 N. Winfield Road, Suite 300, in Winfield, and at 4575 Weaver Parkway, Suite 200, in Warrenville.
