Health of Des Plaines River

Daily Herald report

The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission will report on efforts to improve the health of 232 miles of creeks and streams that drain into the Des Plaines River from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Mundelein Park District community center, 1401 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein. The stormwater agency is addressing water pollution, flooding and degraded natural resources in a two-year watershed planning process that began earlier this year. The annual meeting will present findings for 246 miles of recently completed stream and river inventory.
