Seniors treated to a musical by VHHS

Members of the Vernon Hills High School National Honor Society served lasagna, garlic bread and apple pie to local seniors before treating them to some entertainment.

Almost 400 seniors attended the Thursday event that included a complimentary dinner and a chance to watch a dress rehearsal performance of "The Addams Family Musical."

"We actually have two of these events, one at each high school, Libertyville and Vernon Hills. Tonight (Thursday), this is the senior citizens from our district and this is a way of thanking them for their support," said Sandy Cloud, communications secretary for Libertyville-Vernon Hills Area High School District 128. "It's a great opportunity for seniors to work with our students and get to know them."

The next performance open to the public is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students.
