Public invited to Global Education Week events

College of DuPage to host series of events Nov. 14-17

College of DuPage will celebrate Global Education Week with a series of events from Monday to Thursday, Nov. 14 to 17, on the college's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

All events are free and open to the public. They include:

Monday, Nov. 14

• Global Education Week Opening Ceremony Poetry Slam from noon to 1 p.m. in the Student Services Center Atrium.

• Oxfam Hunger Banquet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Student Resource Center, Room 2000. RSVP required.

Tuesday, Nov. 15

• Global Hot Spots current events discussion from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Services Center Atrium.

• "Is the Peace Corps for Me?" from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Student Services Center, Room 2201.

Wednesday, Nov. 16

• Global Education Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Services Center Atrium.

• "Financing Study Abroad" presentation from noon to 1 p.m. in the Student Services Center, Room 2201.

• "See the World, Teach English Abroad" presentation from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Student Services Center, Room 2201.

Thursday, Nov. 17

• "Cultural Backpacking: How to Plan, Pack and Experience the World on a Shoestring" from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Student Services Center, Room 2201.

Global Education Week also will feature a World Flag Display on the third floor of the library near the circulation desk, a photo contest, and World Peace Trees located around campus.
