Nov. 9: CLC holds Veterans Day Ceremony and resource fair

The College of Lake County's annual Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at noon Wednesday, Nov. 9 in Room C005 (C Wing Auditorium) at the Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St. Grayslake. The keynote speaker is Brian Riegler, principal at Waukegan High School and a U.S. Navy Reserves commander who has been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

This is the fourth annual event co-sponsored by CLC and Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center. The ceremony honors those who have served in the U.S. military and will feature U.S. Navy and CLC speakers, musicians from Naval Station Great Lakes and a color guard. A luncheon will be served in Room C003 at 1 p.m. for attending veterans and ceremony participants.

Veterans are also invited to attend a Veteran Resource Fair and Welcome Home Celebration from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to provide information on veteran benefits and services. Participants can visit with representatives from Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (service and benefit entitlements to veterans and military service members, including VA registration and enrollment); Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, Lake County Veterans & Family Services Foundation, Veterans Employment Program/Catholic Charities, Lake County Veterans Assistance Commission, CLC's Veterans Student Services and the new National Chapter of Student Veterans of America.
