It took more than 30 years for police to charge Jacquelyn Greco with the murder of her husband in their Inverness home. It took a jury about two hours to convict her. Jurors found the 69-year-old grandmother guilty Monday afternoon of the 1979 murder of Carl Gaimari. Full story.

Aurora men charged with theft in North Aurora

Three Aurora men were charged with felony theft after police witnessed them stealing sheets of metal Sunday from a North Aurora business, authorities said. An officer saw a gray pickup truck pull behind a closed business about 10:15 a.m. on the 200 block of Poplar Place. Full story.

Cutler's return leads to Bears' 20-10 upset of Vikings

Quarterback Jay Cutler was back on the field for the first time since a sprained thumb sidelined him during the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Eagles, and the difference was noticeable. Jet engine model had trouble before fire at O'Hare

As authorities investigate why a GE engine failed and led to fire aboard an American Airlines jet Friday, records show federal authorities had asked the manufacturer to fix problems with that type of engine previously. Twenty people were treated for minor injuries Friday afternoon after pilots aborted the takeoff to Miami. Full story.

Wheeling Town Center to open in summer 2018

Wheeling village board members have unanimously given final approval to the Wheeling Town Center, which is expected to welcome its first residents and patrons in summer 2018. The town center is a $110 million project that will bring a five-story, 300-unit luxury apartment building and 100,000 square feet of commercial space, including an anchoring movie theater, to the former Wickes Furniture site just east of the Wheeling Metra station. Gunman robs Waukegan phone store

Employees and customers of a cellphone store in Waukegan were robbed at gunpoint Friday, police said Monday. The robbery took place about 7:45 p.m. at the store on the 1300 block of North Lewis Avenue. A few customers and employees were robbed of an undisclosed amount of money and their belongings, police said. Full story.
