McGuire running for re-election as Hanover Township supervisor

Brian McGuire announced he is running for re-election as Hanover Township supervisor next April.

"Throughout the last four years, the township has held line with no new taxes while ensuring the availability of high quality programs for youth, seniors and veterans," McGuire said in a news release.

Hanover Township has a 100 percent transparency rating from the Illinois Policy Institute and was the first township to receive the Sunshine Award in 2013. Earlier this year, the township board unanimously voted to eliminate pensions for all future elected officials. McGuire received the Association of Illinois Township Committees on Youth 2016 Friend to Youth Award for his service and advocacy for township youth programming.

A lifelong township resident, McGuire is the president of Associated Equipment Distributors.
