Cubs fans: Take advantage of Schaumburg Metra Station

For those who might be heading downtown to Chicago to celebrate the Chicago Cubs in their quest to win the World Series, the Village of Schaumburg would like to remind the public it can take advantage of public transit using the Schaumburg Metra station, 2000 S. Springinsguth Road.

Schaumburg is served by Metra's Milwaukee District West Rail Line connecting riders from the west suburbs to Chicago's Union Station. Ample daily fee parking is available on the north side of the tracks and is maintained by the Village of Schaumburg while additional parking is also available on the south side of the tracks that is maintained by the Village of Roselle. Commuters must pay for parking on the side of the tracks on which they park.

Metra riders can also avoid waiting in lines at the daily fee parking stations by utilizing the Village of Schaumburg's Passport Parking mobile application if they are parked in the north side of the lot. For additional information on parking at Schaumburg's Metra Station, how to use the Passport Parking mobile application, Metra schedules and more, visit the village's website at www.villageofschaumburg.com.

Metra offers riders the ability to buy tickets directly from their smartphones, too, with the Ventra App, including the Saturday and Sunday unlimited ride $8 Weekend Pass. All departing times from the city will leave on regular scheduled service, so riders should plan accordingly. For Metra information, visit metrarail.com.
