IMPACT 100 CHICAGO OPENS ANNUAL GRANT CYCLE; ACCEPTING NONPROFIT APPLICATIONS FOR $100,000 GRANTS

Impact 100 Chicago, a women's organization that awards $100,000 grants to Chicago area nonprofits, today announced that it has opened up its 2016- 2017 grant cycle. The organization will accept letters of inquiry from eligible Chicagoland nonprofits until November 18.

Impact 100 Chicago members pool their $1,000 membership donations to award $100,000 grants. Last year, Impact 100 Chicago's Suburban and City Chapters awarded six $100,000 grants. Since its inception in 2010, Impact 100 Chicago has awarded more than $2 million in high impact grants that have a transformative effect on the receiving organizations and those they serve.

"There are so many worthy organizations⎯right here in our own backyard⎯doing important work to improve the lives of disadvantaged individuals and communities," said Michele Polvere, board chair, Impact 100 Chicago and one of the organization's founders. "We are excited to begin our grant process so we can help these wonderful organizations dream big and help the underserved in our local communities."

Focus areas for the 2016-2017 grant cycle awards are Culture, Education, Family, Health and Sustainability. Impact 100 Chicago's grant cycle includes a four-step grant application process, including letter of inquiry, full grant application, site visit and finalist presentation. Finalists present at Impact 100 Chicago's annual Grant Award Celebrations in spring 2017, where Impact 100 Chicago members vote for the $100,000 grant recipients.
